Save An indulgent dessert board featuring slices of moist caramel banana bread, fresh fruits, creamy spreads, and sweet treats, perfect for sharing at gatherings or as a show-stopping brunch centerpiece.
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the pot I use for cozy one-pot meals and small-batch recipes, so I wanted to quickly share it here.
This is the Martha Stewart heart-shaped enameled cast iron Dutch oven (2-quart). It’s one of those pieces I reach for constantly when testing soups, stews, baked casseroles, and smaller comfort-food recipes.
- Heats evenly with no hot spots (huge for slow cooking)
- Non-reactive enamel interior — no seasoning required
- Perfect size for small households or side dishes
- Sturdy handles, easy to move from oven to table
It’s also a favorite with home cooks — 4.6 out of 5 stars from over 1,900 reviews — and Amazon often has a coupon available, depending on color and size.

Instructions
- Prepare the Caramel Banana Bread:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in caramel sauce. Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely, then slice into 1 to 2 cm thick pieces.
- Assemble the Charcuterie Board:
- Arrange banana bread slices in the center of a large serving board or platter. Surround with groups of strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, banana slices, apple slices, grapes, mini pretzels, and chocolate-covered almonds. Place cream cheese, Nutella, peanut or almond butter, and caramel sauce in small bowls and add to the board. Drizzle extra caramel sauce over the banana bread if desired. Serve immediately.
Save My kids love assembling their own bites from this board—especially dipping banana bread in creamy caramel sauce. It turns dessert into a fun family activity.
