# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It comes together in 20 minutes flat, leaving you more time to actually enjoy people instead of being chained to the kitchen.
  • The avocado ranch tastes creamy and herbaceous without any of the guilt, and everyone always asks for the recipe.
  • You can build it an hour ahead, which means you're basically already done when guests arrive.
02 -
  • If your dip looks separated or broken, you probably over-blended it—next time, pulse instead of continuous blending, and stop the second everything is smooth.
  • The vegetables will start releasing water after about 45 minutes, so if you're not serving right away, pat everything with fresh paper towels before plating.
03 -
  • If you're making this ahead, store the dip and vegetables separately, and don't arrange them until 15 minutes before you need to serve.
  • The herbs are what separate this dip from basic ranch, so use fresh ones and chop them right before blending—the flavor difference is shocking.
